This recipe is a delicious and easy way to make a comforting side dish that
tastes just like the fried apples from Cracker Barrel.
The slow cooker does most of the work, making it perfect for busy days or
holiday gatherings.
Ingredients:
3-4 lbs apples, peeled and sliced into wedges (about 6-8 medium apples). See notes below on apple varieties.
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Slow cooker (4-quart or larger)
Large bowl
Measuring cups and spoons

Knife
Cutting board
