Combine Liquids: In a medium saucepan, combine the French onion soup and beef consommé.
Add Rice & Butter: Stir in the rinsed rice, melted butter, and garlic powder (if using).
Bring to a Boil: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Simmer: Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan tightly, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender. Avoid lifting the lid during simmering to ensure even cooking.
Fluff and Serve: Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
Garnish (Optional): Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, grated Parmesan cheese, or crispy fried onions for added flavor and visual appeal.
