Prepare the Strawberries:
Begin by hulling and quartering the strawberries. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the strawberries, then add ¼ cup of lemon juice.
Gently stir to combine, ensuring the strawberries are well coated with sugar. Cover the bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes at room temperature. This process helps the strawberries to release their juices and sweeten.
