Step 1: Prepare the Crockpot
Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot. If using frozen chicken, there’s no need to thaw; just add it directly.
Step 2: Mix the Gravy
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix, and water or chicken broth (if using). Stir until smooth and well-blended.
Step 3: Assemble in the Crockpot
Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot, ensuring the chicken is well coated. There’s no need to stir; the heat will work its magic as it cooks.
Step 4: Cook
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, depending on your available time. The chicken should be cooked through and tender.
Step 5: Shred the Chicken
About 30 minutes before serving, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot, stirring it into the gravy to absorb the flavors.
