Homemade Crab and Shrimp Seafood Bisque

This recipe makes approximately 6 servings.
Ingredients:
1/2 lb shrimp (peeled, deveined, and chopped into 1/2-inch pieces)
1/2 lb crab meat (lump or claw, picked over for shells)
1 small yellow onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
4 cups seafood stock (or chicken stock, low sodium preferred)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup dry white wine (optional, such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc)
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a touch of heat)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish, chopped
